Main Water Line Replacement in NJ
You might have to have your pipes repaired or replaced. So, what needs to be done is measure of broken pipe, digging trenches with a shovel and sanding. But if the fault is in your main water line, you have to call a professional.

When we replace a main sewer line, these are some of the steps one of our plumbers will take.

Finding the location of the main pipeline
If you know the position of the main sewer line, that will be helpful to us. But if you don't we have the expertise to find it.

Digging the problem
First one of our plumbers will mark the start and end points of the main line and dig until both the ends are exposed. They will dig along the length of the pipe, using caution around areas that cross with other utilities (they should not overlap, but it has been known to happen, if your utilities are too close together, you may have to have them to re-routed).  They will keep going along the length of your water main until the entire pipe is dug up. If the pipe runs underneath concrete, they'll have to bust that it open too. However if that concrete is city owned, you'll need a permit.

Calculate how much pipe is needed
The plumber will measure the the length and diameter of the pipe that was just dug up. Just in case they will have extra length in place.

Removing the old pipe and installing the new one
We always have the supplies on hand to replace your main sewer line in our vans so you don't have to worry about supplying the new pipes. Before installing a new pipe, the plumber will completely shut off the water in your home so it is much easier to install without running water. Next, they will disconnect the old pipe at both ends, and dismantle it piece by piece.

Now, they’re ready to install the new pipe. Installation steps vary according to the kind of pipe (copper, PVC or others). Once they have fit the new pipe, the plumber will turn on the water supply and check for any leaks. If they find none, they will fill the trench.
